The ‘1927 International 2.5 Ton Speed Wagon, Hose, Ladder and Chemical Truck’, to give it is full name, is the oldest working vehicle in our collection.
The chassis was bought in 1927 by the City of Dawson and the fire department added the box, ladder and chemical tanks, which were taken off an old horse drawn wagon, once it arrived in Dawson. This was typical practice for small departments at that time.
When not in the museum, it can regularly be seen in town parades.
